Sometimes Losing Makes You Realize So Many Things You Never Saw Before/Family First
by A Pakistani Boy
Just close your eyes
And let go of the thickness of the air.
And feel yourself fly,
Feel yourself be light
Feel free of the hurt
And know
The ones who broke your heart
Are now far behind.

The results of the biggest blog awards of my country Pakistan are out and i’m pretty sure the title of my post is enough to tell i didn’t win.
And no, the poem is not about losing the blog awards
But i would like to thank all of my readers who voted for me and all those people who helped me garner votes. Miss Noeleen and Mr. Tom Baker posted to their reader to help me get votes and i am forever grateful to them.
But just so you know, the person who won, she is a very lovely lady and her blog (this link) is something i’m sure you people would find lovely and heart warming and exceptionally hilarious! Moreover, she’s the editor of a literary journal which also won a blog award in Best Literary Blog category. And i have forever been so desperate to get my name into that journal!
I am no disheartened at all, in fact this has pushed me to go forth and work hard on my blog.
But about the poem and what i’ve realized is that friends move on with their lives and then there is no one left to help you through rough times but your family, so don’t be so dependance on them. Sure, to some extent they are there, but only when they are free. Moreover, they also have their lives and worries to get to and ne friends and stuff, so it’s kind of okay…
Love your family and hold on to them tight.
But it doesn’t mean i’m letting go of my friends; i love them the same. But i’ve just realized that i need to be dependent only on myself for happiness. Make other’s expectations from you fulfilled, but don’t expect anything from them…….

This is so touchy
The poem is very nice… <3 (the message again)
Glad the poem was liked by you. Thanks
I’m sorry you didn’t win, but you have a great attitude, just keep moving forward! Your poem is beautiful and so is your message!
Well, i’m sorry too. But everything happens for the greater good

Thanks loads man
Huh. Words fail me
Yeah, sometimes
self dependence is important – for the SELF tags along all the time.
hold on tight to family – for they will always love you through thick and thin.
so very true – do hold on tight.
do not give up on friends – sure they tend to move on and come back or not
friends you keep making new all the time – never give up on friends -
you can have expectations on yourself, on your family
but expectations you should not hold on friends – things will be lovely that way.
sorry to hear about the blog award –
the first time i visited your blog was to give you a vote –
following a link on someone else’s blog – i voted because i like what i read.
i hope you continue writing – there will be many more awards like that.
What really matters is that you are winning every time you post
wow! I had no idea you visited my blog the first time to vote for me!
You got the things i wanted to say…. I’m glad!
And IA I shall never stop writing and dreaming
What a great attitude to have, my friend! You have been a diligent contributor and a great friend to so many online–I have no doubt your recognition will come
Amen to that
Too bad you didn’t win. You have some wonderful work here that deserve wider recognition. The poem above is one of them. It is so true for any suffering heartbreak. If they let go they will feel so much more at ease and soon realise they have drifted so far away hurt can no longer be found.
Yeah, letting go is hard, but once you do, it helps a lot!
And i believe my day will come IA
Winning or losing doesn’t matter if you believe in your capabilities. Keep Flying
So True
